"Keith Haring 1978-1982" opens at the Brooklyn Museum
It's kind of crazy that this is the first large-scale show for this influential and well-known artist, but better late than never! The show, which chronicles Keith Haring's work from the year he arrived in New York up to the ascent of his career, includes155 works on paper, videos, and more than 150 archival objects, including sketchbooks, flyers, posters, subway drawings, and photos. It runs through July 8th.

Another reason we love Anderson: When Papermag asked her about all the critical comparisons she's gotten to Kim Gordon, Patti Smith and Pretty on the Inside-era Courtney Love, she told us, "For some reason [critics] always wanna compare girls to other girls. But I feel like, on stage, sometimes I wanna be more like Iggy Pop or something. I dunno, maybe I'm like Henry Rollins in his Rollins Band days?"

Alien at IFC Center
St. Patrick's Day it tomorrow, but there's probably going to be a lot of pre-partying going on in the city tonight and you should probably just hide out at the IFC Center to avoid getting barfed on. You, however, might be the one doing the barfing after you watch the super-disgusting chest-bursting scene of this still-scary Sci-Fi thriller directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver in her underpants.
