Fashion's Night Out: It's that time of year again when stores stay open late, offering discounts, sparkling wine and maybe a random celeb or two. Check out our guide to the best picks HERE.
PopRally Presents Meta-Monumental Pre-Game at MoMA: In anticipation of artist Martha Rosler's forthcoming November exhibit, Meta-Monumental Garage Sale, MoMA's regular PopRally party is following a rummage sale theme, transforming the museum's atrium into a garage where guests can donate whatever they want to Rosler's "crowd-sourced" piece. There'll also be cocktails, games of some sort and a performance by rock group The Postelles. [via Flavorpill]
Mr. Mickey x Lacoste Celebrate 20 Years at PAPER: Head to the Lacoste Soho store to fête our very own Mr. Mickey and his 20th anniversary at the mag. His favorite brand will be offering discounts and there will be plenty of cocktails (and mocktails!) to sip while listening to tunes by DJ Pierce Jackson. [via papermag]
Emma Straub at BookCourt: Fittingly, author Emma Straub (who's featured in this month's issue of PAPER!) presents her second novel, Laura Lamont's Life in Pictures, at the book store where she works, Brooklyn's BookCourt. Her second work of fiction -- a follow-up to her much-praised debut, a collection of short stories titled Other People We Married -- centers on a Midwestern farm girl who heads to Hollywood to catch her big break during the movie industry's golden age. The reading will begin at 7 pm. [via nymag]
Los Angeles

It's pretty safe to say you can expect a rendition of Ferris's famous "Danke Schoen." [via Flavorpill]

To get a sense of what types of shows are in store, we hear one performance piece is called 55 Minutes of Sex, Drugs, and Audience Participation. [via Chicago Reader]
Fashion's Night Out at 900 N. Michigan: Heroes star Ali Larter hosts one of the biggest FNO events in the city, spread out throughout the shopping center's many floors. Mario Tricoci will be offering complimentary services so you can get dolled up before checking out a fashion show styled by celebrity stylist Eric Himel, shopping all the in-store promotions and enjoying a cocktail or two. Britain's Cat Talent: Head to the Chris Beetles Gallery before this show closes on 9/8 to see the "best of British cat art." And, believe it or not, this annual show predates the Internet.
