Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown Spring 2013 Teaser from PAPER Magazine on Vimeo
For all you fiendish fashion fellas out there freaking out over what is one of the most anticipated menswear shows of the season -- the
Perry Ellis by Duckie Brown debut -- we have a sneak preview to whet your appetite. The 11-year-old, beloved, culty and quirky menswear line, helmed by the design duo/longtime couple
Steven Cox and
Daniel Silver (who very endearingly refer to each other as "Duckie"), have teamed up with classic American line Perry Ellis for the first time this season. Check out this video by
Mac Premo of a behind-the-scenes fitting, where our eagle eye spotted striped military-style peacoats, lots of plaids, lots of khakis (the collection is actually named "50 Shades of Khaki"), a very cool-looking mustard-yellow suit and some drop-crotch trousers. As
William Van Meter of
New York Times put it, "The clothes aren't for cubicle jockeys, but they are decidedly wearable: a well-balanced melding of outré Duckie tendencies with the Perry Ellis Everyman." Sounds good to us. The show is next Tuesday, and the line will be in stores this spring.
