One of our dearest friends and long time contributors, the legendary performance art pioneer (and just really, really wonderful person) Tom Murrin has performed a show as his alter-ego Alien Comic every full moon night since the 1970s, in honor of the moon goddess Luna Macaroona. Tonight, Tom is in the hospital, and too ill to go on with the show. His friends are gathering in celebration of Tom on this Full Moon Day from 9 to 11 p.m. at PS 122 on First Ave. and 9th Street in the East Village. Bring props, snacks, costumes and good vibes. To get a sense of what an amazing and interesting guy he is, read this interview we did with Tom in 2010, timed to his one-man show at PS 122, "The Talking Show: The Magical, Ridiculous Journey of Alien Comic." For more info on Tom, and to add any of your own memories of his past Full Moon celebrations, click here. See you tonight. And all hail Luna Macaroona.
