Ending what's been an otherwise subdued Fashion Week with a big rock 'n' roll bang, Nur Khan threw a little concert at Hiro Ballroom last night featuring a performance from Guns N' Roses. Though we remain firm in our belief that any GNR lineup without Slash
is not a GNR lineup, their performance still sounds like it was pretty
boonanas and featured renditions of "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child O'
Mine." Attendees included Justin Timberlake, Matt Damon, Jimmy Fallon, Jason Sudeikis, Olivia Wilde, Sienna Miller, Nick Zinner, Taylor Momsen and .... Chelsea Clinton (because it wouldn't be a fashion week party without a deeply strange mix of celebrities). Khan told Blackbook's Steve Lewis that he decided to host the performance at Hiro (where he also hosted Courtney Love's fashion week performance
in September and where Paper has hosted many a party) to pay his
respect to the soon-to-be re-vamped club. "It's sort of my two cents
into the goodbye," Khan said. "The town is losing another rock and roll
room. I'm going to have to build another. We'd still be at Don Hill's if
he hadn't died. This show at Hiro is all out ...confetti canons,
arealists. It's the last hurrah before Mark [sic] Packer takes Hiro and
Matsuri over and does what he does to it."
