Teenage girls around the world might be swooning over a sweet-faced 19-year-old breakout film star named Ansel Elgort these days, but this is far from the first time the Elgort name has created a buzz. Ansel's proud father is the legendary fashion photographer Arthur Elgort, whom we celebrate in the spirit of our September issue, as a true original. Most famous for pioneering a naturally lit "snapshot" style of photography, he has been one of Vogue's signature photographers since the '70s and has created ad campaigns for clients like Chanel, Valentino and, most recently, Dior. We invited Arthur to turn his lens on his wife, opera director and producer Grethe, and their kids -- photographer Sophie (who shot photos for this story as well), actor Ansel and filmmaker/producer Warren -- at their Long Island home.
