Tea Obreht at St. Mark's Bookshop
The Huffington Post's Book Club kicked off back in January, selecting literary phenom Tea Obreht's debut novel The Tiger's Wife (about a young daughter investigating her father's death in an unnamed Balkan nation) as the first book. Now comes the book club's first event, a reading at St. Mark's Bookshop, featuring the young author herself.

Gates of Heaven at the Film Society at Lincoln Center with Erroll Morris
Documentary filmmaker Erroll Morris's 1978 film sheds light on the strange, strange world of people who have their furry friends buried in pet cemeteries. Apparently Werner Herzog claimed he would eat his shoe if this film ever made it to the theaters -- when it did, Herzog ate his shoe, an act which was obviously documented in a film called Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe. Morris himself will be on hand after the screening for a Q&A.
