An authentic reproduction of Mona Lisa, likely painted by one of Leonardo da Vinci's assistants, was discovered in Madrid's Prado Museum.  The Prado had had the painting for many years but only discovered its authenticity after restorers found a backdrop identical to da Vinci's, hidden behind a layer of black paint.
