In this weekly column, MC/DJ Hesta Prynn pairs pop culture stories with an original playlist.

Ooh girl, New York Fashion Week is still just beginning and already it's madness! Carnivals, snowstorms, heels on cobblestones, what's next? To mark Part 1 of NYFW I've paired some of the best collections, parties and missteps with their Classic Rock theme songs -- and included links to some of the most ridiculously fashionable performances ever. Freddie Mercury called, he wants his bedazzled bodysuit back.

Most Needing-to-Have-Every-Piece: Erin Fetherston - Tom Petty, "Listen to Her Heart"

Fetherston didn't show her Fall 2013 collection outside of private appointments, but it is online to view and covet. Ballet shapes in colorful metallic fabrics are paired with motorcycle gloves fastened with bows. All Petty songs evoke the feeling of Indian summer, and this is a song about a girly girl with edge who surely would wear this collection well. "She might need a lot of loving but she don't need you."

Most Hopelessly Miscast: La Perla - Queen, "Fat Bottomed Girls"

The most dramatic of lingerie lines, La Perla's collection has been described as "lingerie that classic Hollywood bombshells sported in their dressing rooms in the '30s and '40s." Of course, starlets were dripping curves and hair and lips and sex back in the day. Nothing showcases lingerie like the skin underneath the fabric. Hope this song inspires La Perla to show on some juicier girls next year, come on guys!

Most Epic: Tadashi Shoji - Led Zeppelin "Kashmir"

Truly, literally an epic song. When will there be a show where the models walk to "Kashmir?" Tadashi Shoji's collection, inspired by a trip to St. Petersburg and the rise and fall of imperial Russia, would have been just the one. The front row fawned over these glamorous gowns fit for a Russian princess. The song is location-specific, yes, but sonically? What a perfect match!

Most Popular: John Varvatos - Heart, "Magic Man"

John Varvatos is included for throwing the best Fashion Week party thus far. Things there were not: ferris wheel, funnel cake, a pop-up shop. Things there were: the best DJ in NYC (?uestlove), amazing food, truly awesome gift bag, Waka Flocka Flame. There are a million shows, parties and events: Varvatos kept his simple and classic.

Most Anticipated: Alice & Olivia - Rolling Stones, "She's So Cold"

Every girl feels super cute in Alice & Olivia. Designer Stacey Bendet serves up quirky patterns - lemon print Spring 2013! - in flattering shapes and never shies away from sequins and color. This Rolling Stones deep-ish cut just makes you want to dance in a big flouncy skirt or slouchy leather leggings. "I'm so hot for her, she's so cold!" Can't wait for the new collection on Tuesday.
