Rarely Seen MLK Doc to Screen in Harlem

In honor of Black History Month and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Harlem's Maysles Cinema has announced that it will screen Sidney Lumet and Joseph L. Mankiewicz's 1970 documentary King: A Filmed Record... Montgomery to Memphis on February 17. Initially released for one night only, the three-hour-plus biography of Martin Luther King, Jr., includes the voices of James Earl Jones, Ruby Dee, Paul Newman and Harry Belafonte. Belafonte will appear in a panel moderated by DJ Spooky after the evening screening. Tickets are available here.
