Our Guide To This Year's Fashion Week After-Hours Festivities

It's that time again to bust out your favorite pair of sky-high wedge heels and that awesome, super flattering-it's-almost-disgusting party shirt you've had in your closet since before the holiday binge because Fashion Week is upon us. For the next week and a half, we'll be keeping tabs on the coolest parties happening around New York City and, even though most of them are invite-only, we'll use our (mildly) scientific methods to calculate your odds of getting in. Just remember to drink lots of water before you go to bed, kids! 

WHAT: Milk Presents APE at FINALE
EXPECT: Milk Studios kicks off fashion week with a curiously primate-themed bash featuring "giant APEs," dancing cheerleaders and balloons. DJ Carl Kennedy will provide the tunes and fashion shutterbug Ben Watts will shoot all the action. For guests that prefer photos a little more 'selfie-style,' there will also be a Watts-esque photobooth complete with props.

WHAT: Galore Pop-Up
EXPECT: Andrej Pejic and Cat Marnell host an opening night bash for fashion party boys Prince Chenoa and Jacob Dekat's new model-centric mag, Galore, and its NYFW pop-up shop centered on their t-shirt collab with What Goes Around Comes Around and Pejic. Tennessee Thomas and DJ Jaziah will provide the tunes and while you mingle, scope pieces from Frederick's of Hollywood's vintage archive.

WHAT: VFILES Fashion Week Party
EXPECT: The cooler-than-cool fashion and culture site-meets-e-commerce platform is throwing down with The Kills frontwoman Alison Mosshart, Le1f and music by #Been#Trill. They'll be celebrating the recent collab between Hood By Air and #BeenTrill and will be offering free booze til midnight. DJ May Kwok will be on the ones and twos, keeping the crowd dancing all night.

EXPECT: Since his show -- and after party -- falls on the first official day of New York Fashion Week, it's safe to assume that all of the fashion types in attendance will be ready to party full-throttle. By the following week, however, all bets are off.

WHAT: The Ace Hotel Hosts a Discussion About 3D Printing and Fashion and a Bespoke Jewelry Bazaar
EXPECT: Designer Michael Schmidt will be joined by 3D print design aficionados Michael Curry (MakerBot) and Duann Scott (Shapeways) and textile artist Brooks Hagan for a discussion on 3D printing and its future influence on fashion. Guests can also scope custom jewelry made from 3D printers from designers such as In God We Trust, Anna Sheffield and Ursa Major.
