Like an indie band version of American Idol's early rounds, the Brooklyn Rock Lottery returns to the Knitting Factory this Saturday, December 1, pairing musicians at random into "super-groups" with the challenge of selecting a band name and performing three to five original songs along with a cover. Members of My Morning Jacket, M83, Against Me!, VHS or Beta, Nicholas Jaar Live Band, YUCK, Javelin, Ra Ra Riot, Blonde Redhead and more are all participating, so if you've ever wanted to hear what a mash-up of M83's "I'm Dreaming" and Against Me!'s "Thrash Unreal" might sound like, this could very well be your chance. The show kicks off at 9pm and all proceeds will go toward Hurricane Sandy relief.
