To Be a Lady: 45 Women in the Arts opens today at the 1285 Avenue of the Americas gallery. The exhibit, which includes awesome women in the arts like Alma Thomas, Elisabeth Condon, Louise Bourgeois and more, aims to redefine and examine the meaning and history of the word "lady." [Zing]

Catch Allen Ruppersberg's latest piece, No Time Left to Start Again/The B and D of R 'n' R, today at the Chicago Art Institute. The colorful piece includes a survey of iconic American music from classic blues to 60's rock comprised of laminated vinyl record covers, vintage snapshots of music events, and an extensive collection of over 1,400 songs collected by Ruppersberg that will all be available for listening at the exhibit. Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit got Youtube-famous after posting a cover they did of the Fleet Foxes' song "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song," but now these two sisters are performing their own music on a tour across the world. Hear their melancholy folk songs tonight at The Metro. [Flavorpill]
