The Apollo Project at the World Financial Center
To kick off the 2012 New York Guitar Festival, a crew of luminaries (including Mike Gordon (Phish), Jeff Parker (Tortoise), Larry Campbell, itsnotyouitsme, David Torn and others) will gather to "re-imagine" Brian Eno's 1983 ambient masterpiece, "Apollo Atmospheres and Soundtracks" on its 30th anniversary. The performance will be accompanied by scenes from Craig Teper's documentary, Man In The Right Seat, about Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell.

Nerd Nite Magazine Launch Party at Galapagos Art Space
Nerd Nite, Galapagos Art Space's monthly lecture series, wherein "nerds get together for nerdery of all sorts" (i.e. informal presentations about topics as far ranging as "The Rise and Fall of the Atari Empire" and "How Snakes Do It), have gone and created a magazine. Celebrate the first issue tonight with a dance party courtesy of DJ Solid Goldberger, a nerd rap battle and various presentations and treatises.

Let's Play House at Le Bain
Head to the top of the Standard Hotel for Nik Mercer and Jacques Renault's super-fun semi-regular party at Le Bain. Tonight's first party of 2012 will feature special guest, legendary New Jersey DJ/house and garage producer Todd Edwards, who'll be making what they say is a rare appearance in New York.
