Last night, the summer music series known as the Vans House Parties wrapped. They're not actually house parties, but warehouse parties, and the main attraction for the final show was legendary Norwegian death punk band Turbonegro. (As you can see in these photos, their look is more "glam" than "death.") Equally entertaining: the Turbojugends, their international gang of followers who sport custom-embroidered member jackets, which the band also wears. Turbojugend ("jugend" translates as "youth") started as a sort of Turbonegro fan club in the late '90s, but grew to become a punk lifestyle movement in its own right, almost eclipsing the band. The "TJ" even have an annual summit in Hamburg. Below, pics of some very psyched Turbojugends.
