Scissor Sisters' Del Marquis Wants to Tickle Your, Um, Fancy

Since the Scissor Sisters announced their indefinite hiatus at a London show last October the "Let's Have a Kiki" band members have been off working on projects of their own. Guitarist Del Marquis teamed up with Boys Choir of Harlem alumnus Xavier to record a new mixtape, Tickle, available for free download on Del's website. We've got the world premiere of the video for the über-sexy lead track, a cover of Jermaine Jackson's 1982 ditty "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy." The duo chose director Robin Comisar for his gritty, unpolished reel, and he delivered one sexy, '80s-inspired fantasy scene involving a disrobing tennis pro (whom you may recognize as a go-go boy from Daniel Nardicio's underwear parties) and an unlikely voyeur. Enjoy!

Marc Jacobs Is the Creative Director of Diet Coke

Marc Jacobs is the new creative director of Diet Coke, which means he'll be in charge of ads and package redesign. His ads (unsurprisingly, thankfully) will feature shirtless male models (and Marc himself) dealing with exploding cans of soda, like the one above. We couldn't be happier. [via The Cut]

Explore Paris' Music and Nightlife Scenes Through the Eyes of a Local

$

claire_zarnitsky_parisphoto640.jpgEach week in our brand-new column, "No Sleep Till...," we'll be talking to cool kids around the globe, asking them to fill us in about the bands, DJs, music venues and night spots they and their friends are obsessing over. Next time you visit their home city, leave your Fodor's and Lonely Planet guides behind and go party like a local instead. (And, yes, if you're scratching your head about why the column's name is spelled like a cash register, well, that's just our nod to the Beastie Boys.)

Name?
Claire Zarnitsky

Age?
25

Where do you live?
Paris. (Montmartre/Pigalle.)

What do you do there?
I'm the co-founder and operations director of a creative studio called Maison Nue and I have a luxury jewelry brand called De la Forge with the designer Maëlle de la Forge that produces collections made entirely in France and that try to offer a distinctive aesthetic.

What French bands or DJs do you think should be on everyone's radars?
I really like the electronic DJs Mr. Flash and Calcium along with House/UK garage producer Mad:AM, who's on Maison Nue's record label. As for bands, you should check out up-and-coming Pop/New Wave bands Lescop, La Femme and Paradis, all from Paris.

Where are the best places to see live music in Paris?
To see live music in Paris, go to Social Club on Tuesday, Wednesday or particularly Thursday, to the Rex Club (where the best DJs from everywhere around the world play when they are in Paris) and to the Nouveau Casino.

What about favorite bars or nightclubs?
My favorite nightclubs to dance all night with friends are Le Baron, Chez Moune, Silencio and Le Tigre. When starting your night, the best is l'Inconnu in the 10th arrondisement or le Rosa Bonheur at Les Buttes Chaumonts.

What does your perfect night out in Paris look like?
My perfect night out would begin with a dinner in a restaurant in my neighborhood, at l'Hotel Amour for example, a glass of wine in the north of the Le Marais [neighborhood], a nice party at a friend's house, and for the end of the night, a special event at a club somewhere with crazy and funny people that I just met!

Lastly, as a local, what's one bar or nightclub you would NEVER go to in Paris?
I would never go to a club in les Champs-Elysées! [Those clubs are] very bling-bling and play the most commercial music!

Check out Claire's band and DJ recs:

Lescop -- "La Foret"

La Femme -- "Sur La Planche"

Paradis -- "Hémisphère"

Mad:AM -- "CDBL Gangsta's anthem RODEO remix"

Calcium -- "Minimix for Play Time"

Mr. Flash
-- "Radar Rider"

The Nessun Rimpianto at the Third Man

$

Nessun-Rimpianto.jpg

Although it conjures images of old men taking generous swigs post-bocce, not all grappa -- the robust brandy crafted from grape pomace -- grips the esophagus and burns its way down. At The Third Man, the Nessun Rimpianto cocktail illuminates this Italian white lightning in its most graceful form: softened with honey syrup, enlivened by fresh lemon and cucumber juices and deepened by the grassy allure of liquid nitrogen-frozen dill.

"Grappa has a reputation for being hard to drink because a person's first experience is often with a low-quality product consumed in volume," explains Edi Frauneder, co-owner of the dark, candle-strewn Avenue C bar a block away from his schnitzel and spätzle haven, Edi & the Wolf. "The product we're using, Candolini Ruta, is pungent and somewhat tannic, but the dill and cucumber round it out and emphasize grappa's savory notes."

Like grappa, cucumbers are native to the Mediterranean, Frauneder points out, "so the old adage, 'If it grows together, it goes together,' still applies."

After a heavy Austrian feast, the effervescent Nessun Rimpianto, topped off with club soda, is a welcomingly bracing digestif.

2 oz. Grappa Candolini Ruta

¾ oz. lemon juice

½ oz. honey syrup

½ oz. cucumber juice

Dill for muddling and a sprig for garnish

Soda

Combine grappa, lemon juice, honey syrup and cucumber juice with a bit of dill. Shake and serve in a Collins glass. Top with soda and garnish with dill sprig.

Yoko Ono Made an Anti-Fracking Video

Fracking is scary, scary stuff, and now Yoko Ono is here to educate us even further about its dangers. Ono and Sean Lennon founded Artists Against Fracking in 2012 in response to gas companies' efforts to start drilling and fracking all across New York State. AAF just released this seven minute short chronicling the group's tour of fracking sites in Pennsylvania, and it's pretty frightening. It also features Yoko, Sean Lennon and Susan Sarandon speaking about the cause. Yoko's anti-fracking TV ad -- which directly calls out Governer Cuomo for his lack of response to the outcry against fracking in New York -- is posted below.

TOPS's "Evening" Is the Instructional VHS You Never Had

Affiliates of Montréal's Arbutus Records (home of Tonstartssbandht and Grimes), TOPS make sleek, funky new wave topped off by Jane Penny's airy cooing. The ballad "Evening" opens last year's début album Tender Opposites with gentle spirals of keyboard chords that call to mind Stereolab. The new video looks like an outdated instructional VHS -- or maybe Laserdisc? -- with random shapes and landscapes floating across a blue background.
