Remember when Pope Francis stunted on an entire continent by announcing a surprise album while he was visiting America? It was a seminal moment for papal music, weird tracks that sounded kind of like The Doors but that weren't made by stoned teens, and general Pontiflexing. But now Francis has gone too far, and fallen victim to the sophomore slump. His new track "¿Por qué sufren los ninos?" has a lot less music in it, and a lot more excerpts from speeches Francis gave asking people to, like, do good works or something. It's a lot of papal bull if you ask us. Honestly, if the third single from Wake Up! (which drops November 27, with the blessing of Arcade Fire maybe) isn't called "Big Popin'" (with a verse from Bun B), we might have to toss Francis' burgeoning music career in the Vati-can. Watch the lyric video for "¿Por qué sufren los ninos?" below, made available by Telemundo. [via Pitchfork]
