Okay, before your head explodes, we'll break it down for you:
1. Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is getting his own talk show called The World Tomorrow
2. It will air on RT, the network formerly known as Russia Today
3. Hip-hop artist M.I.A. has recorded the theme music
Whaaa?
A known supporter of the Wikileaks founder, M.I.A. reportedly met Assange in London, where he remains under house arrest, facing extradition to Sweden where he has been accused of sexual assault. Apparently the two hit it off: the singer couldn't contain her excitement and tweeted yesterday, "julian assange borrowed my computer last week, im still FREAKING OUT !!!!!" while Wikileaks made it clear the feeling was mutual by tweeting, "M.I.A. is the Julian Assange of pop music."
The show will debut on April 17th and in a press release, the network said of the show, "Over the past two months, [Assange's] temporary home in the English countryside has played host to a series of extraordinary conversations with some of the most interesting and controversial people alive." No word whether M.I.A. will be featured as a guest but it's certainly a possibility.
