SONAR,
Barcelona's premiere 3-day culture fest, is back for it's 19th year on
June 14, 15 & 16. The music lineup is jam-packed with artists
includin, among others, New Order, deadmau5, The Roots, Lana Del Rey, Fatboy Slim, Metronomy,
T.E.E.D., Azari & III, When Saints Go Machine, Madeon and Nicolas
Jaar. There are three daytime events with art, film and music at the
city's beautiful Museum of Contemporary Art and two big nights in four
massive warehouses holding thousands of people. A 3-day pass, available

is only 155 euros. This year's "image" or theme is based on a film
called The Distance by Sergio Caballero about a robbery at a Siberian
power plant. There's a teaser here. ) If you can't make it over to Spain this summer, there's always SonarSound Tokyo on April 21 & 22 and SONAR
Sao Paulo on May 11 & 12. Of course there's always hope that
they'll come back to NYC for another edition of 2009's SonarSound. (
