Summery vibes abound in this just-released Jamie xx single "I Know (There's Gonna Be Good Times)," a track sent to stratospheric levels little help from the ever-animated Young Thug and Mixpak dancehall superstar Popcaan.
Everything's there: a powerful soul sample, Thug's dynamic weirdness and Popcaan's mesmerizing flow. It's all layered atop steel drum synths that give the entire production a tropi-pop edge. Add this one to the stable of ace singles Jamie's already dropped (namely the delicate, disco-y "Loud Places" and simmering, ever-so-slightly jungle-tinged "Gosh"), and you've got one of the most highly anticipated albums for this summer season.
