With Mad Men's fifth season premiering on Sunday, March
25th, we're continuing our feature looking back at the cast
before they entered the doors of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. We already showed you clips from yesteryear of Christina Hendricks (Joan), Vincent Karthesier (Pete), John Slattery (Roger) and January Jones (Betty.) Next up, we've got Elisabeth Moss.
Having appeared in roles since she was eight years old, Moss may have had the busiest pre-Mad Men run of the bunch. Before slipping into pencil skirts and neck scarves as ambitious secretary-turned-copywriter, Peggy Olson, the actress appeared in kids' flicks like Escape to Witch Mountain and Gypsy before taking on meatier roles in Girl, Interrupted and The West Wing (and don't forget her still-on-the-air Excedrin ad!).

Picket Fences, 1992-1995
In this Rockwellian show about a small-town sheriff, Moss played a precocious little girl who could often be seen showing off in school. That's her with the long hair and pink sweater set at 0:09.

Gypsy, 1993
Click to 6:20 to see Moss in an adorable costume as a young Gypsy Rose Lee (and Bette Midler's daughter) in made-for-TV flick based on the '59 Broadway show and '62 film adaptation.

Escape to Witch Mountain, 1995
In the Disney Channel EtWM re-make (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Kim Richards starred in the original, don't ya know!), Moss co-stars as Anna, who, along with her separated-at-birth brother possesses magical powers.

Naomi & Wynonna: Love Can Build a Bridge, 1995
Moss plays a pre-teen Ashley Judd in this film about the country star and her troubled relationships with her daughters.

Girl, Interrupted, 1999
The MM star looks unrecognizable playing Polly "Torch" Clark, a young woman who burned half her face off before winding up in a mental institution alongside Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder's characters. Here, Jolie teases Moss before she erupts into tears.

The West Wing, 1999-2006
Perhaps her most famous gig before Mad Men, Moss played Zoey Bartlet, the president's daughter. During her tenure on the show, she comes of age, dates her father's aide (played by Dulé Hill), dates a French asshole and gets kidnapped on her graduation day.
Excedrin Commercial, 2005
"If you have migraines, you know pain. These things are for real," Moss says in an oddly sultry voice while shilling for Excedrin. Her contract must've had some extra-special clause because, seven years later, we swear we still see these commercials.
