Diet Coke is one of those perennially "chic foods," (or, rather, drinks), which is why we're not surprised that they've tapped Jean Paul Gaultier to be their next Creative Director, taking over from Karl Lagerfeld. As part of his official duties, JPG will design a limited edition collection of bottles and cans, develop online content, retail concepts and ad campaigns throughout Europe and, apparently, star in some cute-bordering-on-weird videos alongside puppets.
Diet Coke worked with the designer on three videos in which he appears in different guises--therapist, journalist, detective--and gives makeovers to one of the "Diet Coke girls" a.k.a. marionettes. They've unveiled two of three videos already with the third going up tomorrow.
Check out the first two videos below and let us know what you think about JPG having a romance with a puppet that looks like a cross between Brigitte Bardot and a Bratz doll.
