Known for his brilliant prints, London-based, Nigeria-born designer Duro
Olowu is bringing his sensibility to new York with "Material," an art
show-cum-pop-up shop. His own designs will be "languidly installed"
amidst paintings, photos and installations by a slew of artists, like
Hamidou Maiga, Laurie Simmons and Tony Cox. Salon 94, 1 Freeman Alley, New York. Through Mar. 10.
Paris' Les Arts Decoratifs will present "an analysis rather than a
retrospective" of oft-intertwined designers, Louis Vuitton and Marc
Jacobs. Engaging the mind as well as the eye, the exhibit will focus on
the cultural and technological forces that shaped each designer's work
