To put it one way, the trailer for Dope looks dope (sorry). Directed by Rick Famuyiwa, Dope is a tale about a nerdy teenager, played by Shameik Moore, who loves 90s hip-hop -- and dressing the part -- in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Inglewood, California. For the film, the director enlisted some real hip-hop stars to inhabit the world of Dope, including A$AP Rocky in a supporting role and cameos from Odd Future, A$AP Mob, and Joey Bada$$'s Pro Era, according to Entertainment Weekly -- you can even spot Workaholics' Blake Anderson in the trailer. Pharrell also contributed four new songs to the Dope soundtrack. Watch the trailer, above, and a Q&A with the director, below.
Dope premieres at Sundance, which starts tomorrow.
