"I recorded a requiem to be played at my funeral in case I was to die in my sleep." Nick Koenig, aka Hot Sugar, wasn't referring to "Not Afraid to Die," featured above, when he said those words. (In fact, he was telling Bullett about his contribution to the Roots' Grammy-nominated undun album.) But considering that this video follows a supine youth who eventually spins out of his bed and into a glitchy digital oblivion, the requiem idea is pretty apt here. The haunting instrumental -- the rusty music-box intro, the soft, toneless noise interlude at 2:30 -- is from Hot Sugar's forthcoming album God's Hand, out Feb 24 on Break World Records.
