While a lot of conversations about Nicki Minaj's new album, The Pinkprint, have been about her feminist anthem-disguised-as-"shake your booty type shit", "Anaconda," songs like "All Things Go" and "I Lied" point to the fact that the record is not just full of club bangers or girl power jams: it's also got moments of introspection and confession. Whereas Nicki 1.0 and 2.0 hid behind outrageous wigs, makeup, clothing and characters with crazy accents and names like Roman Zolanski, Nicki 3.0 has been stripped down and vulnerable -- both in her appearance and her song-writing. This new side of the rapper continues with My Time AGAIN, a forthcoming documentary on MTV that's a follow-up to 2010's My Time Now. In a preview, above, you can see Nicki grappling with how much her life has changed post-fame along with shots of her performing, greeting fans, and freaking out after one of her back-up dancers gets bitten by a snake. But you can also see her having quiet time in the back of a car, visiting her grandma and getting excited over a box of doughnuts. If the doc is anything like the minute-long trailer, it seems like it'll be the perfect button to Nicki's quest to meld her over-the-top persona with her real self. At least both sides of Nicki still enjoy a good ass shaking.
