The first New York Festival of Lights runs from Thursday, November 6th, through Sunday in DUMBO. The event brings together lots of international artists, designers, makers -- and all-around light freaks -- who will offer installations, projections and performances in the archway under the Manhattan Bridge and the Pearl Street Triangle. Some of the artists participating include Ingo Maurer, Donna D'Cruz, Tupac Martir, Nicole Renaud and more. There's also a video exhibition called "Initiations" curated by John Ensor and Leo Kuelbs featuring projection-mapped videos. Plus there are DJs spinning each night, bands and several food trucks so you won't starve. It's FREE and open to everybody and the fun starts as soon as it gets dark which (in case you haven't noticed) is around 5 o'clock. We're hoping this becomes an annual NYC event.
