No longer just a last resort for covering pesky love bites or a staple for prudish prepsters and their pearls, the turtleneck has resurfaced as a sleek 'n' chic wardrobe staple. Reintroduced back into fashion by Phoebe Philo at Celine and Raf Simons at Jil Sander for Spring/Summer 2012, the turtleneck has stayed strong through the Pre-Fall collections and into Fall/Winter.
"I like a turtleneck," Edward Enninful, W's Style and Fashion Director, told us before the Donna Karan F/W 2012 show. "They have been popping up everywhere and can look good on the right person. I like it underneath a jacket or coat."
Even one of the Fashion Week's most stylish denizens, Visionaire's Cecilia Dean, is a fan. She wore three versions while attending shows this week.
