Last night at Milk Studios, Zero + Maria Cornejo showed her full range of futuristic sensibilities, in colors that left many thinking of anything but fall or winter. With this vibrant focus on futuristism, her F/W 2012 collection emphasized bold shapes and flowing fabrics. Her full talents as a designer could be seen in the seemingly simpler dresses, such as those made from green satin crepe or double stretch georgette, which came together into feminine geometric patterns, while her experimentation with materials -- shearling, suri, and stretch leather, to name a few -- meant that the lab coats and jumpers were (at the height of hi-tech fashion), enought to brighten anyone's future.
