Taking a break from Fashion Week calorie-counting, we headed to the Columbus Ave. Shake Shack last night for some much-needed sustenance and a private party for Mark "the Cobrasnake" Hunter's collaboration with Vans and Parisian concept boutique Colette. The famed burger joint was dressed to look like a children's birthday party, complete with coloring-contest place mats and scratch-and-sniff stickers, and attendees included Cobrasnake sidekick Jonny Makeup as well as photographer Todd Selby and director Philip Andelman, who is married to Colette's creative director, Sarah Lerfel. "I may be small, but I do like [me] some burgers," Lerfel said over a plate of fries. "I like them simple. I'm a girl, so, I don't like when they're too messy and overflowing with grease." On the other hand, Hunter likes his juiced up and stacked to the sky. "When I designed the pair [of shoes] with VANS for Colette, I had just had a dream about buns on my feet, hence the burger-as-shoes. I don't know how it came about, but, I've always had a thing for big, greasy burgers, so, it was just right... you can see all the layers." Along with the halved-burgers served to party-goers (fashion week portion control?) was a milkshake created by Mark himself ("the Cobrashake"), which consisted of chocolate, hazelnut and raspberry. It went over so well with partygoers that employees were overheard considering adding it to the menu.
