Last season on the runways old-world braids were the rage -- with romantic Rapunzel-style ones at Rachel Zoe and Giles and halo braid crowns at Naeem Khan and Rebecca Minkoff. But off the runway we've spotted a return of '90s style braid tails. Lindsey Degen (a Mr. Mickey favorite) and Adam Selman, Rihanna's costume designer and River Island collaborator, brought them into the fashion forefront with their fall collections this week. Inspired by '90s streetwear and the era's music culture, think iconic cornrow kings like Snoop Dog and Coolio, hairstylist Duffy transformed Selman's model's hair into multiple rows of messy braids. And these neo-cornrows aren't quite the tragic trend of the early naughties -- a la Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake (or Kesha's continuous attempts) -- they're thicker and fewer in number. We're particularly into the girls who rock 'em with bleached hair and dark roots -- they look like spines! -- see below.
