Our favorite Montreal imports since William Shatner, Chromeo, have a new single out today featuring Toro y Moi. Combining the best of the duo's signature '80s funk steez with elements of Toro y Moi's dreamy synths, "Come Alive" has a sort of Loverboy "Working for the Weekend" motif with Dave 1 crooning lyrics like "I asked your boss for your number / I never wondered which way you would go. / You woke me up from my slumber / Now let me break your work flow" and "Come alive / Give it up, girl, before you lose your mind. / Come alive / They've got you under pressure doing overtime." On this crappy January Monday, we could use some funky Canadians to wake us up from our slumber. In the meantime, we'll settle for listening to "Come Alive," below.
"Come Alive" appears on the band's forthcoming album, White Women, out this spring. You can catch the duo on tour starting this April.
