Fifty years ago today, November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. Most of you are probably too young, but I remember that day well: I was a sophomore in high school and was sitting in Latin class when the news broke. Our teacher pulled out a tiny transistor radio and we all listened as the events unfolded. I remember the little radio because I had one just like it, and used to fall asleep every night with mine tuned to WBLS in Chicago and the Dick Biondi show. I was obsessed with music and had just taken the bus over to Aurora to the Sears store where I bought a 45 of today's oldie-but-goodie, "Sugar Shack" by Jimmy Gilmer & the Fireballs.
