Icona Pop Make Jay-Z and Beyoncé's "Bonnie & Clyde" Into an Anthem for Best Friends

Icona Pop have taken Jay Z and Beyoncé's hit "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" -- which actually originated from 2Pac's "Me and My Girlfriend" -- and made it into an anthem for besties with their video for "Girlfriend." Unlike the two tracks that preceded it, which are all about romantic duos finding solace in each other in a tough-as-nails world, "Girlfriend" is an unabashedly joyous celebration of friendship. The video finds Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo going on a road trip, breaking into a train junction and hopping aboard -- with discotheque interludes thrown in because, you know, it's Icona Pop. No word on whether "Girlfriend" will appear on the duo's debut album This Is... Icona Pop, out September 24, but either way it's a great mid-summer pick-me-up. Watch above.
