oscarsparty.gifMurray Hill's Oscar Party
Who better to host an Oscars evening than Mr. Showbiz himself? Cabaret personality Murray Hill will once again be holding his famed awards night soiree at Joe's Pub, covering the entire evening from the red carpet to the marathon ceremony itself. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite celebrities and to compete for awards that include "Best" and "Worst" dressed and "Three Sheets to the Wind" (a title for the most intoxicated, of course).
Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street; 7:00pm, tickets for purchase and dinner reservations available

KTCHN Restaurant's Oscar Viewing Party
KTCHN hosts an Old Hollywood-era glamorous evening with specialty cocktails and a menu inspired by the first-ever Oscars ceremony in 1929. Fill out your Oscar ballots correctly and you could take home a prize -- unlike the famed Gloria Swanson, who lost to Janet Gaynor at the first awards.
KTCHN, 508 W. 42nd Street; 7:00pm, reservations required

Kostume Kult's Annual Alt.Oscar Party
Dress up as your favorite film character or celebrity and walk the red carpet at Club XL. The night includes a celebrity-judged costume contest, drinks, food, and dancing. What's more, all proceeds from the event go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
Club XL, 512 W 42nd Street; 6:00pm, $5 in advance, $10 at the door

Nitehawk Cinema's Movie-Inspired Dinner
Indie movie house Nitehawk is hosting an Oscars dinner that sounds like something out of our cinephile/foodie dreams. The meals and cocktails are inspired by Oscar-nominated films of years past. We're partial to the Silver Linings Playbook dish (Philly Style "Kandy Kakes") If only all food was inspired by movies! The night includes trivia, curated clips, drinking games, and more.
Nitehawk Cinema, 36 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn; 7:00pm

Witstream Oscars Party
Comedy blog Witstream.org is having a laugh-filled Academy Awards party at The Bell House, hosted by comedian Dave Hill. In addition to Hill's commentary, there will also be a live feed of comments on the show from hundreds of the funniest comedians and writers. Ballots and prizes will also be awarded to those who make the best Oscar predictions. Did we mention it's also free?
The Bell House, 149 W 7th Street, Brooklyn; 7:00pm, free

Oscars Party at Heavy Woods
Bushwick's Heavy Woods will be projecting the Oscars onto "the big wooden wall with sound, for a double sensory treat" and serving up dinner and snacks from New Orleans-inspired Williamsburg eatery Tchoup Shop. They'll also be serving discounted drinks and playing Oscars drinking games all night long, including shots every time the camera cuts to George Clooney in the audience. Translation: Plan on waking up with a blinding hangover Monday morning.
Heavy Woods, 50 Wyckoff Ave., Brooklyn; 5 p.m.-2 a.m.

Tacombi's Oscar Dinner
The Nolita taqueria will be projecting the awards ceremony on two huge screens in the front and back of the house. Grab a passion-fruit champagne cocktail courtesy of Chef Luis Aguilar and watch the show over the restaurants' fantastic tacos and tamales.
Tacombi, 267 Elizabeth Street

Oscar Night Party at Miles
Watch the awards show from the Bushwick bar's flat screen and make sure to fill out a ballot -- the winner with the most correct predictions will take home a...bar tab! (Here's to getting drunker than a B-lister at the Golden Globes!)
Miles, 101 Wilson Ave., Brooklyn; 7pm, free

The Big Oscars Quiz Thing
Test your cinematic knowledge at this Oscars edition of The Quiz Thing at 92YTribeca, hosted by Time Out New York copy editor Noah Tarnow. Movie-tour passes and Blu-Ray editions of classics from The Criterion Collection (oooh, nice!) will serve as prizes. Even if you don't know anything about movies, prizes will be awarded to those who shout out totally incorrect yet witty answers.
92YTribeca, 200 Hudson Street; 6:00pm, $12 in advance, $15 at door

Big Screen Oscars Viewing Party
Go to the Eventi Hotel to see The Academy Awards on Big Screen Plaza's 30 ft. screen as you drink themed cocktails. If your Oscar predictions are the best in the night's prediction pool, you'll win a bottle of champagne. How swanky!
Eventi Hotel, 839 Avenue of the Americas; 6:00pm, rsvp@bigscreenplaza.com
