Chairlift Record Release Show at Bowery Ballroom
To celebrate their fabulous new album, Something, synth-pop trio-turned-duo Chairlift take over the Bowery Ballroom tonight. Lead singer Caroline Polachek's vocals are as captivating and haunting as ever, but their latest (out via Columbia Records) grooves a bit harder than their debut. Violens and DIVE open.

The Pruitt-Igoe Myth at the IFC Center
Chad Freidrichs' new documentary tells the sad story of the Pruitt-Igoe housing projects in St. Louis (which were destroyed in a very public implosion on national television), as a way to explore the decline of public housing in America.
