Former PAPER cover girl Solange takes the stage for her second and final concert this month at the Bowery Ballroom to serve tracks from her groove-tastic EP True, including the PAPER office jam "Losing You." Sold out, but tickets are floating about on Stubhub for those unwilling to miss a sure-to-be excellent show.
Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey Street. 8 p.m. Sold out.
MUSIC: METZ at Generation Records
The last time taut Toronto trio METZ played Manhattan, we worried for frontman Alex Edkins's vocal cords. Arrive early to this free show to find out how they held up. Dirty Old Women open.
Generation Records, 210 Thompson Street. 7 p.m. Free: first-come, first-served.
FILM: Money for Nothing: Inside the Federal Reserve at Film Society of Lincoln Center
This history of the American central banking system is narrated by Liev Schrieber and directed by Jim Bruce, who was able to finance the film largely through his short trades in 2007 and 2008. Bruce will take part in a post-screening Q&A with NYU historian Richard Sylla and journalist James Grant.
Howard Gilman Theater, 144 West 65th Street, (212) 875-5610. 6:30 p.m. 110 minutes. $13. Tickets here.
