In news that rocked us just as much as Paula Deen having type 2 diabetes, Madonna finally admitted in a Nightline interview last night that Lady Gaga sounds, well, a little too much like her. The likeness is, of course, especially obvious in Gaga's "Born This Way," which is very similar to Madonna's 1989 hit, "Express Yourself." Said Madonna of Gaga during the interview, some of which is included after the 6:46 mark in this ABCNews YouTube Clip, "I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well-done. When I heard ['Born This Way'] on the radio ... I said, 'that sounds very familiar' ... It felt reductive." When interviewer Cynthia McFadden pushed her to explain what she meant by "reductive," Madonna purred, "look it up."
BOR-ING! Madonna (who, by the way, looked great in a sparkly, navy and white Vionnet dress) can hit Gaga harder below the belt than that and she knows it! (Though wouldn't it have been amazing if Madonna really didn't know what "reductive" meant and was secretly hoping McFadden would tell her?) We suggest watching the classic Courtney Love crashes Madonna's MTV Music Video Awards clip as a palate cleanser. 3:08-mark-total-bitch-Madonna, come baaaaack. We know you're still in there somewhere.
