1. The Strand Book Store (828 Broadway) will be hosting Marina Abramovic and photographer Marco Anelli tomorrow from 7pm-8pm to discuss the artist's recent work, "The Artist is Present," a performance piece that originally took place during Abramovic's MoMA retrospective in 2010. Photographs taken during the exhibit (like the ones above of Sharon Stone, Jemima Kirke and Lou Reed) by Anelli have been turned into a book, Portraits in the Presence of Marina Abramovic, now sold at The Strand. 
2. "Freedom to Love Now!" is hosting their inaugural concert to support marriage equality in New York City on October 30. The proceeds from the big night at the Beacon Theatre (2124 Broadway) will benefit the Freedom to Marry organization and ticket prices range from $45 to $150. It's a great venue to see a show and, before we forget, here's who's playing (so far): Doveman, Rufus Wainwright, The National, fun., Toshi Reagon, Beth Orton, PAPER coverboys (February, 1989) They Might Be Giants, Mx Justin Vivian Bond, Cibo Matto, Reggie Watts, and Sam Amidon. Celebrity Net Worth came up with a list of the 25 wealthiest people of all time (using formulas to account for inflation) and the #1 spot goes to an obscure king from West Africa who reigned during the 14th century (that's a "video game representation" of what he may have looked like) and who had an estimated $400 billion (by comparison Bill Gates' current net worth is $62.5 billion).
