James Franco is expanding into music, people (this after his turn playing a creepy lawyer who takes up with an underage porn actress). After spending time filming Oz: The Great and Powerful in Detroit, the actor-cum-artist-cum-writer-cum-filmmaker became influenced by Motown and, along with his buddy, Tim O'Keefe, formed a band called Daddy. Their debut EP, titled MotorCity, comes out next Tuesday, September 25th, but in the meantime, you can hear their first single, "Love in the Old Days," and watch its accompanying music video. The song features pleasant, chillwave melodies interspersed with a few spoken-word moments by the actor and as for the video, there are lots of hazy, kaleidoscopic images of kids frolicking on the beach, a couple getting it on and -- our favorite -- old family photographs of Franco's parents on their wedding day.
